Free introductory adult cycle safety workshops will run in Palmerston North during October, November and December to help cyclists build confidence when biking around the city.
Coordinated by Sport Manawatu, each two hour workshop will be facilitated by qualified trainers and cover the basics of riding, road positioning, roundabouts, and right and left hand turns.
"The workshops will be ideal for returning or current cyclists who want to feel more confident when biking and want a quick refresher of New Zealand's cycling guidelines," says Sport Manawatu iMove coordinator Felicity Masters.
"We ran these workshops at the beginning of the year and they were really popular. A wide range of participants took the opportunity to improve their skills and they all said how worthwhile and valuable the training was," she says.
The workshops will be held at Central Normal School on Tuesday October 18 at 6pm, Wednesday November 9 at 6pm, and Thursday December 8 at 6pm. Participants need to be over 18, have their own bikes and helmets, and be able to ride in a straight line to attend.
