Challenge Family’s newest half distance race is set in the very heart of Heilbronn, Germany and is perfectly staged to play the role of the ‘Road to Roth’ in 2015.
Sparkasse Challenge Heilbronn powered by Audi has become the 31st member of the Challenge Family, taking place a month before the legendary DATEV Challenge Roth. Every third weekend in June the starting pistol will be fired in the heart of Heilbronn for the Challenge Half in Germany providing perfect preparation for Roth.
Challenge Heilbronn started life five years ago as the City Triathlon Heilbronn, a highlight in national and international triathlon race calendars since the very first year and enjoys outstanding reputation among European triathletes. Zibi Szlufcik, Challenge Family CEO said, “The triathlon family is enriched by the addition of Challenge Heilbronn which is both excellently and passionately organised.”
“Our trademark and recipe for success is our location in the very heart of the city,” said Christoph Troßbach of Challenge Heilbronn. The entire competition area is held within 400 metres in the heart of the city - hotels, registration, press conference, pasta party, swim course, T1 and T2, sections of the run course and of course the iconic finish line in the market square.
The swim in the “Neckar-Arena” is followed by the challenging bike ride through the beautiful vineyard scenery in Zabergäu. Passing alongside romantic vineyards, the 90 km course is on excellent paved roads, fully secured by hundreds of volunteers. Back in the heart of the City the run course travels through the city centre before a spectacular finish in the Marketplatz stadium in front of the historic town hall and thousands of spectators.
