Triathlon returns to its roots in Australia this weekend with the inaugural Challenge Forster at the birth place of long distance triathlon in Australia on 23 November.
Challenge Forster marks the long-awaited return of Challenge Family to Australia and will feature a one-day, multi event festival with something for everyone - Sprint, Enticer, Junior and draft legal triathlon events, plus Kids Miniman, where every child receives a medal.
The Challenge Forster flagship event will take place with an afternoon start, bringing the magic of the finish line for the age group athletes as night falls. Challenge Forster has one of the largest pro prize purses in Australia - 25,000 Euros (approx $A30,000), and this event has already attracted a strong, competitive field which will make for some exciting racing.
The men's field features several leading Australian athletes including Tim Berkel (AUS) who's enjoyed a string of podium finishes in 2013 and is a two-time Challenge Copenhagen champion. He is joined by Clayton Fettell (AUS) as well as Challenge Wanaka and Challenge Taiwan champion, Dylan McNeice (NZL).
The women's field will see some strong racing with Annabel Luxford (AUS) who is rarely off the podium and is fresh from her victory in Cozumel and Michelle Wu (AUS) who is also racing off the back of recent 70.3 victory, this time in Taiwan. They are joined by current Ironman Australia champion, Rebecca Hoschke (AUS), Michelle Bremer (NZL) and Rebecca Preston (AUS).
Follow the race live at www.challengeforster.com.au from 1pm EST on Saturday 23 November.
