Gina Crawford Wins Ironman 70.3 Yeppoon

Gina Crawford won Ironman 70.3 Yeppoon in Queensland, Australia, on Sunday.

Crawford, now based in Wanaka, took 4h 23m 5s for the half ironman distance, six minutes faster than Lisa Marangon in second place. Michelle Wu was third.

The men's race was won by Australian Tim Reed in 3h 55m 26s. Tim Berkel was second and kiwi Adam Gordon was third in 4h 1m 33s.

Gina's result follows on from the Samoa Half Iron last weekend where she finished third overall behind Sam Warriner and Graham O'Grady.

The next race for Gina will be MetaMan Bintan in Indonesia at the end of the month.

Rhodsey 9th at North American Ironman Champs

Bryan Rhodes finished ninth at Ironman Mont-Tremblant in Canada on Sunday.

The race which counted as the North American Champs was won by Australian Luke Bell in 8h 26m 6s. Rhodes completed the race in 8h 46m 13s.

Rhodsey commented on Twitter: "Wow that was hard, such a stunning course. Glad to be in the mix, been a long road since surgery!"

Another New Zealander, Simon Cochrane, finished 15th overall in 9h 1m 20s, just ahead of the fastest woman, Mary Beth-Ellis (USA).
